absolutely excellent This excellent, small, light, extremely portable telescope that I can carry for blocks on my fingers to set up in the darkest place is something I've been waiting to find ever since I bought my first telescope in 1986, 21 years ago for Halley's Comet. I wish I had bought this Celestron then but I didn't know anything about telescopes then, about different mounts, tripods, optical quality, or brands. A Great Entry-Level Scope I was surprised to see all of the bad reviews... this scope has been great for me. It's not professional equipment, of course, but it's a great value... especially for beginners.

My scope arrived packed well and perfectly fine, so maybe the manufacturer (or Amazon) figured out the packaging to prevent parts from being broken during shipment.

Overall, I'm pleased. It's no Cadillac, but sometimes a Chevy does the job just fine. :-) –Markus Dantinnefrom Amazon.com
